Blog Of The Year 2012

Blog of the Year Award 1 star jpegI’ve been nominated for the Blog Of The Year 2012 award by Terry, over at 8 Kids And A Business.  I officially started posting on my blog in June of this year, and it wasn’t but a few days after I began that I came across Terry’s blog.  I’ve followed her site since.  Terry is a dedicated Catholic wife and mother who, as can be seen from the title of her blog, manages 8 Kids and a healthcare business.  As can be imagined, her life is full.  Very full.  She’s also one of the most talented, inspirational, and moving Catholic writers I’ve come across.  Her articles are moving, often tinged with a good dose of down to earth humor, and always thought-provoking.  I recommend her blog to all Christians.  Terry, thank you for nominating me for the Blog Of The Year award.  May the remainder of this Advent season and the upcoming Christmas season be full of joy and good times for you and yours.  Merry Christmas!

Now, on to the particulars of this award.  (copied from Terry’s blog)

The rules for accepting the award are as follows:

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012′ Award

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen — there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required — and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012′ Award — and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them

5 You can now also join our Facebook group — click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012′ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience

6 As a winner of the award — please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award — and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

Yes — that’s right — there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once — this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ’1 star’ award — and every time you are given the award by another blog — you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs — and even if they have already been given the award by someone else — you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

Here are the blogs I am nominating for Blog Of The Year 2012:

1.  Leanne Cole, from Leanne Cole Photography.  Leanne is a talented photographer, and anyone who enjoys photography will enjoy her site.  Leanne also does her part to promote the art by frequently posting tutorials at her blog on how to accomplish different effects with photo editing.  For my part, I can say I’ve learned many useful tips and tricks from the posts she’s written.  As an amateur photographer who want to improve his work with the dream of breaking into the professional world, I’ve found her blog to be an invaluable source.  Leanne, thanks for all your tutorials and tips, and for all the outstanding photography you post at your blog.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

2.  All Along The Watchtower, written by JessicaHof and chalcedon451.  All Along The Watchtower is another great Christian blog featuring two talented writers from Merry Old England.  As with Terry’s blog, I recommend this one to any Christian who wants to be inspired and challenged in their faith to our Lord Jesus Christ.  Jessica and Chalcedon, thanks for all your articles, and here’s looking forward to what y’all post in 2013.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

That’s it for now.  I will be nominating more blogs later for this award, and as I do, I’ll post about them.  In the meantime, check out the blogs I’ve listed above if you haven’t already done so.  You’ll find it well worth your time.

To everyone:  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
